Liquid, Powder or ?!

Hello Everyone!

There are different types of foundation. Thats kind of obvious but choosing the perfect one is like finding the perfect bra, nearly impossible. "Beauty starts with great skin" according to Bobbi Brown. The reason why we wear foundation is to even out our skin, to make it look healthier. But the most important reason is that our skin looks better with foundation than it did without. So I asked myself how do you know which type is the most suitable for your skin, which one is working the best for you, which one looks the most natural on your skin and so on. So I did a little bit of research, so lets start! :)

Liquid Foundation: is most suitable for dry to extra-dry skin. It provides medium to full coverage. It hydrates and smoothes your skin. I highly recommend the Rimmel Wake me up foundation. It gives you a radiant and glowing finish without looking to juicy. The foundation provides medium to full coverage and still is really light.

If you have oily skin use an oil-free liquid foundation. It absorbs oil and smoothes your skin. And here as well providing medium to full coverage. This is a great foundation for combination skin during summer.

If you want your foundation more light and much more like your own skin use a tinted moisturizer or
a tinted face balm.

The tinted moisturizer is for normal to sightly drier skin. It creates a sheer and lightweight coverage. Here i recommend the ones form Garnier. They are on a lower budged and still really good. They have one for dry and one for oily skin.

The tinted face balm is for exra-dry skin. It hydrates your skin intensively and provides a dewy finish. With this you achieve an sheer coverage.

Stick foundation works for every skin type except for oily skin. Provides a medium to full coverage and covers up spots nicely.

Powder Foundation can be illuminating or matte. More recommended for oily to very oily skin as If you have dry skin or rosacea the foundation will settle into dry areas which mostly causes scaling.
There are different types of powder foundation too.

The Oil-free powder compact is suitable for oily skin and provides a medium to full coverage. As mostly the packaging is really handy it's a great powder foundation to just throw into your handbag and take it everywhere with you for touch ups during the day.

Mineral Powders are mostly suitable for very oily skin. But pay attention when choosing the right color. Oily skin can lead to changing the color of the powder.

I hope I could help you in a way and hear you soon:

Travel Handbag Essentials

Hello everyone :)

I'm currently in Sweden, because it's my second home and nearly every summer holidays my family and me visit my grandparents here.

I love being in this calm and nice surrounding, because it's really different to the sometimes way too stressy life in Germany. But of course we're doing a lot of trips and my handbag is with me all the time. I thought it's maybe quite interesting what i carry around in my 'Travel Handbag' and it could be helpfull next time you are travelling ;)
So let's have a look at my bag:

My black bag is from h&m and I really like it because it's really basic and simple and for me it has exactly the right size. I think I bought it last year and I still really like it, but the only problem is that it's too small to take it for school..

1) In this little notebook I write things down I have to do for school, present ideas for friends or just really random things I would probably forget without writing them down haha, because forgetting dates or things I should do is so me ;)

2) My phone charger is definately an important item of my handbag, because I don't have a portable charger yet, but it's really one of the top points on my technic wishlist ! I think it's just so annoying if your phone runs out of battery, that's why I really try to get used to take my charger with me whenever I go out.

3) I really like having some bobby pins and a hair tie in my bag as my hair annoys me quite quickly when it's windy or just too hot. Here in Sweden I need them unfortunately more because of the wind at the moment haha

 4) In my handbag you can usually always find one of my favourite lipsticks, which is currently one from L'oréal by J.lo . I really like it, because it's quite similar to my natural lip colour and it doesn't dry out my lips at all.

5) Maybe my Brown purse is not the best for my black bag, but I just like it a lot more than my black one! It's from Tom Tailor and I bought it because it has so many pockets and I like keeping the little cards of good restaurants or cute cafés in them.

6) On long journeys I just love listening to music on my phone and at the moment I really enjoy the app 8tracks, where you can listen to a lot of different playlists from other users. Of course I'm also using my phone for checking my Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. I think my favourite one is currently Instagram but I just started some months ago and I'm already a bit obsessed with it even if I'm not posting a lot of photos haha.

7) I hate the feeling of dry hands, so I carry a very moisturizing creme with me all the time. I actually really like the basic ones you can find everywhere. This one smells of chamomile and makes my hands feel sooo soft! Hmm so good..

8) As my skin really likes to break out and tries to make my life a bit harder (yaaay) I just feel a bit safer with a concealer in my bag when I go out. This one is the 'Fit Me' concealer of Maybeline and I think it's one of my favourite concealers I tried and I tried far too many. Oops ;)

9) I bought my Tangle Teezer maybe one year ago, because it was really hyped a lot in the internet. Even if it's quite expensive for a hair brush I just love to have it in my bag and it's perfect for girls with long hairs, especially if it's wet it's so much easier to use the Tangle Teezer.

10) A small deo is just so random, but I think it's one of these things which are just good to have in your bag and probably I don't really have to explain more about deos..

I hope you like the post and we'll see us soon :)

Prague haul

Helloo :)

Recently I was on holiday in Prague and as you visit a new country you want to get to know a little
bit more about it. So as an interested person you visit all the "must see's" and eat the food corresponding to the country your in.
For me it also means: exploring the shops. ;) So I went on my way, in mind to spend as little money as possible... Which of course did not really work out haha.
So here are some bits and pieces I picked up during my visit.

First of all, are some pieces I picked up from the Mac counter. Normally I tend to avoid the Mac stand because as it's not the cheapest and I can't afford buying myself so many things from there. And every time I sneak in, despite of my rule not to, I see so many pretty things, which look at me and scream don't leave, take me with you!. haha. And so I end up purchasing products which I could get somewhere else much cheaper. But Mac is my little weakness haha :)

The first thing I picked up is the mineralize blush in new romance.
It's a gorgeous peachy, pinky pastell color with a slight amount of golden shimmer in it.
It gives a very natural finish but with a hint of shimmer to make your face glowing in a decent way.
As its a mineralizer, its really easy to apply. The color is pigmented to you don't need a lot to create healthy glowing cheeks.

Next I picked up two eye shadows. One in Jest and the other in Mythology. They are both more of the brown toned side. I usually stick to earth colors, but I promised myself to branch out of my comfort zone and try brighter colors too.
Mythology is a pretty bronze color. It contains a slight hint of rose gold which makes it really metalic- looking. The color is, as usual for Mac eye shadows, super pigmented. But as it's a really shimmering color I only apply a small amount in the center of my eye lid.

Jest is a light rose gold, shimmering tone. As it is a delicate color it's the perfect base for an everyday make up. But with it's shimmering pigments it makes the look more interesting.

Moving to bare minerals, I picked up the MATTE SPF 15  Powder Foundation in fairly light. It's a loose powder foundation which claims to absorb oil for a matt and natural finish. As we don't have the brand where I live, I was eager to try it when I first spotted it.

Next item is one which i heard loads of people rave about, so I wanted to give it a go.
And this item is the Rimmel Wake me up foundation. It claims to reawaken your skin by giving you a radiant glow and a flawless, natural-looking finish. It also has an SPF 15 which is always useful, except where I live , I don't think we need it so "high" haha.  Well, when this foundation does fulfil all those points, I've found my new best friend ;).

And last but not least I bought myself a bit of a random item. But i saw it in this cute little shop and I just could not resist (anyone relate to me ?).
And it's the Manufaktura Original home spa: Calming Relaxing Gel mask for eyes. It's a gel mask applied on your eyes like a sleep mask. And when I'm honest in the first place I purchased it because it feels so cool to touch because there is, as the name says, a gel liquid inside haha. You can use this mask warm or cold. A cold mask relaxes and calms tired or swollen eyes, it supports the blood circulation and alleviates a headache. A hot mask helps when you suffer from a stuffy nose.

So this where all beauty items. I have some more clothes too, but it would be simply too much to write about it in one post :)

I hope you liked it and see you very soon :)

A little introduction

Hello everyone.
What do 2 girls from different countries have in common? The love and passion for writing, fashion and beauty. And that's exactly what our blog is about.
First of all we want to point out that English isn't our native language, so we will pobably make a lot of mistakes in writing. But it would be cool if you give our blog a chance.

As we already said we will write about beauty and fashion related things, but also about our everyday life. To keep this blog active we will take turns in posting every week.

See you soon.
